Saturday’s Run for Aimee 5K Run/Walk is much more than a race.
Funds raised from the 5K will go to benefit not just Aimee Copeland, but also LifeSkills for Women, a local nonprofit helping women go from welfare to work.
Copeland, a 24-year-old college student from Snellville, Ga., captured national headlines after being injured in an accident while using a homemade zip line May 1. She developed necrotizing fasciitis, which has led to multiple amputations and the failure of five major organs. She is hospitalized in the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctor’s Hospital.
