Tristan Hawn’s college football plans were in limbo until recently.
The Augusta Christian lineman was in talks with Georgia Southern last fall. Then, coach Willie Fritz left in December. Signing Day came and passed in February, leaving Hawn in search of a new home.
Enter Carson-Newman: The Jefferson City, Tenn., school showed interest in Hawn a month ago and began talking with him. After a campus visit, he was hooked. On Friday, he signed with the private college at a ceremony at Augusta Christian Schools.
