It took Harlem’s Reggie Reid two years to do what sometimes takes players four years to accomplish, if ever.
With a 25-point performance against Jefferson County Saturday, the Bulldogs’ sophomore guard broke the 1,000 point mark, finishing the game with 1,018.
“Sometimes it doesn’t happen until your senior year, I’m pretty excited about it,” Reid said.
The accomplishment came a day later than anticipated. Needing 16 points, an ailing Reid was held to nine points in a loss to Westside on Friday night.
Reid still wasn’t at 100 percent on Saturday.
