When his mother called him, she told her son, Jake Blumling, to sit down.
She said the Greenbrier sophomore, along with fellow sophomore Cy Casey, had earned honors for their outstanding fishing ability. The duo was named to the Bassmaster All-State team for Georgia, two of 69 anglers nationwide (out of 380 nominees) to be selected. Only one or two students per state get chosen for the honor. To be eligible, students must have a 2.5 GPA or higher.
