Twice in the past three weeks, Greenbrier running back Josh Pierce has come close to breaking the school record for rushing yards in a game.
Not bad for someone who has been toting the ball for less than a season.
Originally a linebacker, Pierce became a fullback for the Wolfpack, moving to running back for this, his senior season.
“It was kind of a crazy experience because I had never had that weight on my shoulders before to carry the ball,” said Pierce, who was mainly a blocker at fullback. “I honestly like carrying the ball better.”
