Let’s face it. Golf is boring.
Let me be more specific. Stroke-play tournament golf is boring. Match play, on the other hand, is not.
Why do you think we get so excited for the Ryder Cup every two years? When the Ryder Cup begins in late September at Hazeltine National Golf Club, we golf fans will be hanging on every shot. Why? Because that’s what match play does.
In match play, it’s one on one. Every shot, every hole counts. In stroke play, tournament golf is mostly one big snoozefest. Boring.
