The Augusta University basketball teams will try to get back on track today when they travel to UNC Pembroke.

The women's game starts at 5:30 p.m. The men follow at 7:30.

The Augusta men fell to 7-5 overall, 4-2 in conference play after a 66-60 home loss Saturday to Columbus State. The Jaguars posted their fewest points in a defeat this season.

Augusta, which has lost two of its past three Peach Belt Conference contests, now will try to collect a victory against league co-leader UNC Pembroke (9-3, 5-1). The Jaguars will look to do a better job on the glass after getting out-rebounded, 41-33, against Columbus State. Also in that contest, Augusta shot 44 percent from the field and just 42 percent (7 for 17) from the free-throw line.

For the season, Tamyrik Fields leads the Jaguars with a 16.2 scoring average and is followed by Deane Williams (15.8), Tyvez Monroe (14.2) and Mikkel Kolstad (12.5).

The Augusta women, under first-year coach Millette Green, are 3-7 overall (1-5 conference) after falling to Columbus State, 77-72. Joshlyn Belcher leads the team with a 14.3 scoring average and is followed by Jahmia Bradley (12.1).

Former Greenbrier standout Mallory Myers has started all 10 contests and is pacing the team with 44 assists against 20 turnovers. Myers is shooting 30 percent from the field, 54 percent from the foul line.

Augusta is on the road for its next three games. The Jaguars return home for contests against Francis Marion (Jan. 17) and Georgia Southwestern (Jan. 20) before hitting the road again for two more games.
