Former Lakeside golfer Hunter Dunagan won his first college golf tournament in record-setting fashion.

The College of Charleston sophomore went wire to wire, posting a tournament-record, 16-under-par 200 total to claim The Battle at Stono Ferry in Hollywood, S.C. He defeated Campbell's Jesper Svensson by two shots.

Dunagan opened with a career-low, 8-under-par 64. He followed with rounds of 67-69 to tie the school record for lowest 54-hole total, a mark set by Adam Grodhaus in the 2002-03 season.

Dunagan, who played his first two rounds without a bogey, helped the Cougars finish second to Campbell in the team standings. He led Svensson by two strokes most of the final round until carding a bogey at No. 17 for a one-shot lead. Dunagan bounced back with a birdie at the par-5 17th at The Links at Stono Ferry and went on to post his first college win,

Dunagan finished the fall with two top-10 finishes. He also recorded a team-best 72.08 stroke average in four events.

The College of Charleston is now off until the spring semester. The Cougars return to tournament play Feb. 17 at the SunTrust Gator in Gainesville, Fla.
