Looking for a fishing competition? Here’s one for parents and children.

Fish Clarks Hill is a freshwater bass fishing competition that will be held from April 1 through June 30 on Clarks Hill Lake. The event is sponsored by the Clarks Hill Partnership, a group supporting economic development and tourism in Columbia, Lincoln, McDuffie, Warren and Wilkes counties.

The Fish Clarks Hill competition will be open to all ages with prizes for Largest Fish and Most Fish Caught awarded in the Adult (+18) and Child (under 18) categories. Prizes will also be awarded for Best Picture and Best Video. Entry kits are $10.

To participate in the competition, entrants must purchase an entry kit (T-shirt and tape measure) from a participating business; fill out an entry card at time of purchase; and like the Fish Clarks Hill Facebook page. Each time the entrant catches a fish in Clarks Hill Lake during the three months of the competition, they should upload a photo or video of their catch alongside the official tape measure to the Fish Clarks Hill Facebook page. There is no
limit on the number of times an entrant can upload fish for consideration.

Winners will be asked to answer specific questions about the catch, and video entries will be given greater consideration than photo entries.

Participating locations for the competition include Wildwood Park, 3780 Dogwood Lane, Appling; Soap Creek Marina, 3000 Soap Creek Lodge Road, Lincolnton; Cliatt Crossing, 3850 Augusta Highway, Lincolnton; Wing n Things, 111 N. Allison Street, Washington; Washington-Wilkes Welcome Center, 22 West Square; Thomson-McDuffie County CVB, 149 Main Street, Thomson; Kwik Stop, 1248 Tignall, Highway, Tignall; Wheeler True Value, 1153 Legion Drive, Warrenton.
