After making her mind up earlier in the year, Greenbrier High School’s Kailee McDonald made her decision official Monday.
McDonald, a defensive captain on the Lady Wolfpack’s lacrosse team, signed to play for Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga.
Making her mind up early made her senior year a bit easier.
“It took a lot of pressure off of me,” said McDonald.
She found Reinhardt when she started looking at potential schools.
“We went to the college fair this year because I had no idea what college I wanted to go to and we saw them there and I had already been liking private schools,” said McDonald, who plans to study pre-med.
She filled out a sports form and they e-mailed her back saying they wanted her at the school. Once she visited the school in the fall, she was set.
“They treated me like a princess,” McDonald said. “They had my name on everything, my name was on the TV and on the sign outside and I was like, oh my goodness.”
McDonald hopes to keep playing defense for the Lady Eagles, who compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference of the National Women’s Lacrosse League.
“I’ve played midfield before but I can’t play it for very long because all they do is run – and running’s not the thing I’m greatest at.”
