The Augusta Prep boys and girls track teams won in different fashions Wednesday afternoon.
The girls outdistanced John Milledge 100-67 with Curtis Baptist (10) and Westminster (2) following behind.
The boys had no such luxury of a margin to work with, winning with 67 points, edging Curtis Baptist (65) and John Milledge (63) with Westminster (17) bringing up the rear.
Going into the day’s final event, the 4x400 meter relay, the Cavaliers’ boys trailed Curtis Baptist by two points with John Milledge four points back. Needing a win and a Curtis Baptist third-place finish, that’s what they got. Led by Jin Li, Rafay Chaudhary, David Chen and Spencer King, the Cavaliers won in 3:48 followed by John Milledge (3:57) and Curtis Baptist (4:02).
Spencer King was the Cavaliers’ lone dual individual winner, finishing first in the 400 meter dash (54.09) and the triple jump (39-11.75).
The Lady Cavaliers won eight of 14 events, paced by Sydney-Nicole Isaac, who won the 100 (12.75), the 200 (27.44), the triple jump (31-06.00) and ran a leg of the winning 4x400 relay (4:34).
