Last Week: 6-1
It was a tough week for our local teams with schools from Columbia County going 1-6, including losses for Harlem and Augusta Prep, who came in undefeated. Lakeside and Evans faced the two Warner Robins schools, which is always tough. Augusta Christian did get back on track with a win as they piled up 385 yards on the ground in a win over Pinewood Prep.
Evans (2-2) at Greenbrier (0-4)
Last Week: Evans lost to Warner Robins 27-14 / Greenbrier lost to Jones County 48-0
Last Meeting: Evans won a thriller last year 22-21 in OT
Greenbrier has been outscored 167-14 in their four games and Evans hung in there versus a top ten squad (Warner Robins) last week. Evans should be able to get the victory, but you can bet Greenbrier will have upset on their mind.
Grovetown (1-3) vs. Lakeside (2-2)
Last Week: Grovetown lost to Houston County 52-19 / Lakeside fell to NS Warner Robins 54-26
Last Meeting: Lakeside won a hard fought contest last year 21-17
Two well coached teams square off in this one. The difference will be the speed for the Panthers at the skill positions and their ability to throw the ball to their terrific athletes. It will not be a cake walk, but Lakeside should be able to get the win.
Harlem (4-1) at Westside (3-2)
Last Week: Harlem lost to Screven County 35-13 / Westside lost to Dublin 37-14
Last Meeting: Westside won last year 28-15
A battle of two vastly improved teams. Each can flat out run the football. Westside is led by QB Jalen Lampkin, RB Demarcus Vaughn, and WR Quentin Phillips. Harlem will counter with Hunter Rippe and Austin Burt. This should be a great game. I give a slight edge to Westside, but would not be shocked if Harlem wins.
Augusta Christian (2-3) vs. Laurence Manning (4-2)
Last Week: AC S beat Pinewood Prep 21-6 / Laurence Manning lost to Ben Lippen 29-23
Last Meeting: ACS beat Laurence Manning 34-7 last year.
The Lions got back on track thanks to a punishing ground attack. ACS piled up 385 yards on the ground and limited Pinewood to just 26 yards. The Lions got Thomas Banks back in the lineup as he gained 149 yards on 10 attempts, while Bryson Ashmore ran for 196 yards on 22 attempts.

Augusta Prep (4-1) at East Atlanta-Conyers (3-3)
Last Week: AP lost to Westminster 13-7 / East Atlanta lost to Anderson 66-6
Last Meeting: The teams spilt a pair of games last year
Augusta Prep will try to bounce back after a hard fought loss to Westminster. East Atlanta is no push over, but they were hammered last week and face a well coached Prep team looking to get back on track.
