Evans High School fastpitch softball has a Boston Butt fundraiser September 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for 10th-grader Taylor Hayes, who is undergoing a 6-week treatment in Boston, Mass. for a brain tumor. The butts can be picked up at the Evans softball field at that time. Tickets can be purchased from any Evans softball player. Cost is $25 and all proceeds will be donated to Taylor and her family to help offset medical expenses.
• Register for flag football and cheerleading for ages 5-14 at the Marshall Family Y through September 15. After September 15 and through September 22, a $15 late fee will be assessed. Practice days and times to be determined with games on Saturdays. Football costs $55 for members and $75 for non-members. Augusta Lacrosse is playing host to a girls 7 vs. 7 fall league at Kelley Baseball Park, open to eighth- through 12th-graders, Sept. 11-Nov. 9. on Wednesdays from 4-5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. Cost is $75 for home league play and $100 for travel tournaments and includes pinnie and U.S. Lacrosse membership. No experience needed but players must have equipment.
