Hanna Bright wasted no time in getting to LaGrange College.
Just three days after graduating from Grovetown High School, and the day after having her letter of intent signing ceremony to announce she would play soccer for the Lady Panthers, Bright was at the school getting ready to take three summer classes.
“I just wanted to get used to it before actual school starts,” said Bright. “I just wanted to get a feel for it so it’s a little easier on me.”
Harlem High alum Jade Cotton, who just completed her freshman year at the school, smoothed the way on Bright’s recruiting trip.
‘‘It was really easy getting to know all the girls. She introduced me to everyone,” Bright said.
And it was the campus trip that won her over compared to Piedmont College, South Georgia and Armstrong Atlantic, schools she also had been considering.
“I really loved the campus whenever I came here to be recruited and stayed here for a weekend,” said the aspiring nursing major.
“I really loved the girls and the coach and all the people there, they were friendly.”
She intends to play forward like she did for Grovetown.
“LaGrange is lucky to have her as she will be an asset to their team,” said Grovetown head coach Debbie Canady. “She is one of the most committed and versatile players they will have.”
