Lakeside High School's Cassandra Wade (front) scored 28 goals, helping lead the Lady Panthers to the 2013 Region 2-AAAAA soccer championship and was named Region Player of the Year.

In 2013, the Lakeside Lady Panthers finished with a 13-3-1 record, unseated Greenbrier as region soccer champions and advanced to the state tournament’s second round. Junior Cassandra Wade was a major reason for that, leading her team with 28 goals and nine assists and was voted the Region 2-AAAAA player of the year.

“Teams would game-plan down the stretch of trying to man-mark her out of games, knowing how big of a threat she was going forward,” said Lady Panthers head coach Nick Edmond. “With that being said, she still found success in scoring goals or getting assists.”
