Gordon Park Speedway’s season opener was a two-day event that was scheduled to include the Fastrak Pro Late Model “Gordon Park 100” on Friday and Saturday, March 1-2.
All heat races for the support classes, qualifying for the Pro Late Models and a warm-up, $1,000-to-win Pro Late Model race were completed Friday, but Saturday’s 100-lap race was a rainout. Twenty-nine Pro Late Models qualified and 23 competed in the $1,000 race Friday. Brian Connor and Brian Ligon were fastest qualifiers and started on the front row. Connor led flag to flag to take the win and the $1,000 prize.
The Pro Late Model 100 will be re-scheduled, with the date announced at www.gordonparkspeedway.net.
