Last month, Evans senior Kelsey Burack got to fulfill a dream when she signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for Johnson & Wales University.
“I am impressed with Kelsey’s work ethic and obvious desire to join and help our program,” said coach Callie Phillips. “Her determination will be an asset to our team.”
Burack has played volleyball for six years, beginning in middle school with school and travel teams, and is a utility player who can set, pass, and serve well.
While playing volleyball was a desire, Burack has also wanted to study baking and pastry since she started high school. She’ll get that chance with Johnson & Wales, a well-known culinary arts school in Charlotte, N.C.
Burack will join nine returning players from the 2011 team.
