North Augusta tailback commits to The Citadel
North Augusta High School senior Vinny Miller confirmed Jan. 11 that he has committed to play football at The Citadel next fall.
The Yellow Jackets running back and The Augusta Chronicle’s South Carolina high school football player of the year led the area in rushing with 2,704 yards and 36 touchdowns.
Miller was a key contributor to the Yellow Jackets’ run to the Class AAAA Division II state semifinals this past fall. Head coach Dan Pippin said Miller was overlooked by some college programs because he was a linebacker, punter and punt returner as a junior and didn’t start at tailback until his senior year.
Miller said he made the decision to go to The Citadel after a recent visit from defensive coordinator Josh Conklin and assistant coach Craig Candeto. Miller said he’ll most likely be a tailback for the Bulldogs.
