I would like to endorse Jason Troiano for chief magistrate judge.

Jason has been serving for the past three years as associate magistrate, and possesses the experience required to maintain the procedures that promote efficient resolution of civil cases in Columbia County.

After three weeks of advance voting, the election Tuesday seems almost anti-climactic. But most people haven’t yet voted, and many haven’t decided between candidates. Here are our suggestions for contested races voters will find on Columbia County ballots.

We urge all voters to choose a Republican ballot. It’s the only way to vote on all available contested races.

The primary election for our congressional candidate to oppose U.S. Rep. John Barrow shows indications of a high voter turnout, as it should. The majority of voters have had little or no personal contact with the candidates. Therefore we base our choice on the background, the endorsements and our past experience with Congress and regulatory agencies. This individual has had occasion to appear before House and Senate committees with continuous employment in the trucking industry for 50 years in a wide variety of roles.

Troiano currently serves the people of Columbia County as the associate magistrate judge and has done an outstanding job for you in that position. As a lifelong Columbia County resident, Troiano believes in serving his community.

As a very tough former prosecutor, he has worked to protect our community and continues to do so today as associate magistrate.
