So, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers wants to restrict the public’s access to the Emergency Evacuation Plan for Dam Failure and Flooding that shows which neighborhoods would flood in the unlikely event that Clarks Hill Dam would fail.

This information should continue to be available on the Columbia County Web site and updated accordingly. I encourage every resident of Columbia County to take the time to view it.

It is evident that both the Democrats and the Republicans have their own agendas, and that we must choose the lesser of the two evils.

To that end, it seems this country is on sinking sand. But no, this country’s foundation was built on the solid rock. It’s not about the donkey or the elephant; it’s about the Lamb.

Only revival will save America. Come heal our land, O Lord God Almighty.

Is anyone going to mention the big pink elephant on the Lady Antebellum stage during their dedication performance? OK, you might not have seen it, but you heard it – five, six or seven times.

Charles Kelley, your home is not in Augusta. You did not go to school in Augusta. The concert tickets were not sold in Augusta. And Augusta did not spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a beautiful project and dedicated it in Lady Antebellum’s name, picture and all.

The recent tragedy involving the senseless murder of Deputy J.D. Paugh in Richmond County has appropriately been the focus of recent public attention and sorrow in our community. We are blessed to have wonderful law enforcement agencies in this area, and the outpouring of public support during Deputy Paugh’s funeral was amazing and deeply appreciated by those who knew J.D., his family and law enforcement officers in general.
