Conservatives will need to be more innovative

Editor:

Since we have seen no improvement in our country’s economic and financial position, and since we see no end of the tunnel for an economic revival under our present government with our ever-increasing debt, we might have to become a bit more innovative.

The flat tax has not energized our politicians – nor have term limits or a budget freeze. It seems like we the people don’t own our country anymore. We have become complacent in our great and prosperous country over the years, and half of the people have grabbed onto Uncle Sam for their sustenance.

The uprisings of the Tea Party have shown that there is still courage in our bellies but they and the GOP have not rallied behind a strong leader. We see this “forward – Obama” image in the media has worked to their advantage and more that half of the voters have fallen for it. A demagogue can sway the people as we have seen.

Now the Tea Party has an idea that should fix our financial mess: “the Penny Plan.” The 1 cent solution can balance the budget without raising taxes or cutting Medicare, Social Security or defense, they say.

Let’s find us a benevolent demagogue to run with it! Maybe we can reestablish a work-oriented country.
