Vote for Anderson and Romney on Nov. 6

Posted: October 28, 2012 - 12:02am

Editor:

I strongly urge Columbia County residents to vote for Lee Anderson for representative of Georgia’s 12th Congressional District. He is the only candidate who will work with Mitt Romney to stop reckless spending, pay down our debt and repeal and replace Obamacare.

His opponent, Democrat John Barrow, would like you to think that he represents our conservative values. However, I feel very uneasy about a congressman who spends time distancing himself from his Democratic Party in some circles while embracing its liberal agenda in others, and who supports Nancy Pelosi in Washington but portrays himself as an independent thinker at home.

At a recent event, a prominent Georgia Republican congressman noted his observation that Barrow typically voted last on important legislation – waiting to ensure that he would get a pass from the Democratic leadership when the outcome was no longer in doubt.

Lee Anderson might be a fish out of water when it comes to sparring with Harvard-trained lawyers and slick politicians, but this is his pond when it comes to the people of Columbia County and the values that we hold dear. He has represented us well as a school board member, a county commissioner and now as a state representative.

I believe Lee’s vision for America is the vision that I want for my children: a commitment to our Constitution and the rule of law, freedom to practice our religion, a strong national defense, free enterprise, smaller government and personal responsibility.

On Nov. 6, I encourage you to vote for Lee Anderson and Mitt Romney. Just as they are seen together on the signs in Columbia County, they will work together for conservative values in Washington, D.C.

Very disappointing to see

Very disappointing to see such a politicly partisan letter from the new Columbia County School Board member. I had heard the observation of Barrow voting late which is laughable as party leadership know what the vote count is prior to the vote being called and don't suddenly forget about it after the votes are tallied. It is unfortunate that we have such an unqualified candidate as Anderson.
