I want to take this time to thank all the residents of District 4. It is an honor to be re-elected to serve on the Columbia County School Board for another term. So many of you helped with my campaign and I want to thank you for all your hard work. Your support means so much to me, and I value each of your opinions and concerns.
Our schools and our successes in education are what attract people to Columbia County, and we need to remain diligent in our effort to offer a world class education to all of our students. Even though we are still teaching reading, writing and arithmetic, the students we are teaching are changing and we as a school system must evolve with the changing of the times. We must look at new and innovative ways to educate our technologically savvy students so they can be better prepared for their post-secondary careers. Our students are the future of Columbia County.
As the school year begins, many difficult tasks are ahead. Budget issues will again be faced, but also we will be in search of the best leader to follow our superintendent, Charlie Nagle. Mr. Nagle has dedicated most of his education career to Columbia County, and he has been a tremendous leader in some very difficult times. It has been an honor to work with him.
Last but not least, I would like to thank Dr. Deborah Fisher for running a clean and positive campaign. There have been many erroneous “facts” and false accusations spewed throughout this campaign, but fortunately she and I remain cordial and steadfast to the facts. Like me, Dr. Fisher’s desire is to ensure all students who want to learn can and will succeed in our schools. Thank you, Dr. Fisher.
I have always represented District 4 to the best of my ability and will continue to strive to do the same. I am here to serve you, District 4. Please do not hesitate to call or email me. Together, we can continue to make Columbia County one of the best school systems in the state.
