Dear editor,

I have been a business owner in Columbia County for over 35 years, have been married to my wife, Shirley, for over 50 years, and I have three children. We are active members of Warren Baptist Church. I owned Huttos Plumbing in Columbia County, and my son Keith Hutto currently runs the family business on Hightower Drive in Martinez. Columbia County has been good to my family and me. I first met Rick Allen as a business owner when he began building one of his projects in Martinez. He has always been thoughtful, kind, and reliable. His work ethic is flawless, and he has a servantlike heart. He is generous and has contributed in more ways than I can describe. When unexpected severe weather once caused severe damage to the structure of one of his building projects, he didn’t fly off the handle; he just took what life sent his way and finished the job with an eager spirit to make people happy with his work.

The character of a good man can be seen in his family and children. Rick has a wonderful wife, children and grandchildren. I am proud to call him a friend. He has wisdom to make good decisions on behalf of the citizens of our county. He is the right man for the job. Join me in sending him to Washington, D.C., to make the positive changes we need.
