Family game night

The Euchee Creek Library will hold family game night from 4:30-6:30 p.m. July 24. Enjoy board and card games, robot kits, Wii Games, karaoke and more.

Meet and Greet

Gubernatorial candidate and Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp will hold a meet and greet at 5 p.m. at the Evans branch of the Columbia County Library, Monday, July 24.

Republican women's meet

The CSRA Republican Women's Club Meeting will begin at 6 p.m. July 24; Dinner begins at 7 p.m. at the Jones Creek Clubhouse. Baby & Me class

The Euchee Creek Library will hold a baby and me class at 10:30 a.m. July 25. Children 0-2 years old can bring their adult, and enjoy a time of stories, singing, finger plays and more interaction.

County committee meetings

The Columbia County public works services committee, and the community and emergency services committees will met from 8:30 to 10 a.m. July 25 at the Evans Government Center Building Auditorium.

Augusta Aglow

The Augusta Aglow meeting will be held at 10 a.m. July 25 at Spring Lakes Clubhouse located at 104 Spring Lakes Drive in Martinez. The guest speaker will be Pat Mahoney. Aglow meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of the every month at 10 a.m.

The Columbia County library Harlem branch will hold open sewing hour at 2 p.m. July 25. Have a sewing project and need to use a sewing machine? Come in and use ours.

Quilt class

The Columbia County library Harlem branch will hold a block of the month quilting class at 4 p.m. July 25. Learn how to make a log cabin quilt. Registration is required due to limited class size.

Job Fair

Job seekers are invited to attend the Employer Day job fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 25 in Darling Hall, building 33720, Room 188. Employer Day will bring together 19 employers to speak with and in some cases interview on the spot with speaking with vice Members, Veterans, Spouses and any job seekers on the many employment opportunities within each company.

Rock painting for adults

The Columbia County library Harlem branch will hold an adult rock painting class beginning at 2 p.m. July 26. Pre-registration required.

Harlem Middle

The board of education will conduct a dedication ceremony for the new Harlem Middle School at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 1 at the new school located at 424 Hawes Branch Parkway in Harlem.

National Night Out

Grovetown will hold National Night Out from 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Liberty Park Community Center. Grovetown Neighborhoods are invited to join cities throughout Georgia for National Night Out (Please turn on all outside porch lights). National Night Out encourages law enforcement and communities to strengthen neighborhoods by getting to know one another to keep communities safe and promote community partnerships.

National Night Out is not only a fun night with your neighbors the event also sends a message to criminals that you are standing up against them by forming an alliance with your neighbors and police.

Grovetown Elementary dedication

The dedication ceremony of the new Grovetown Elementary School will be held at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 3 at the school located at 300 Ford Avenue in Grovetown.

Kids fest

Columbia County Community Events presents KidsFest at Evans Towne Center Park, at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 5. It is the largest hands-on, creative festival in the are CSRA, with more than 100,000 square feet of interactive fun.

Back to School Bash

The Rosemont Baptist Association will host a community back to school event from noon to 4 p.m, Sunday, Aug. 6 at the Rosemont Association Building, located at 5463 Burks Mtn Road in Appling. There will be barbers and hairstylists giving complimentary basic haircuts, styles, and nail polishing services to children ages 5 to 16 years old.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Department will be on site to do fingerprinting and identification cards for children. Also, a seamstress will be doing basic alterations for kids clothing on site. Refreshments, games, and school supplies will be provided.

GreenJackets Community night

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce and the Augusta GreenJackets will hold a Columbia County Community Night at Lake Olmstead Stadium at 7:05 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 8. Beverage prices will be half-price during the game. Contact Tom Denlinger at (706) 736-7889 for package deals.

The Columbia County library Harlem branch will hold a Factionless Fun Teen Book Club at 4 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 10. Group will discuss teen books and movies and make a fun craft.

Fort Gordon retiree council

The Fort Gordon Retiree Council meets quarterly. The group's aim is to keep the Fort Gordon command structure aware of issues, concerns and needs impacting the military retiree population (of all branches of service) in the Fort Gordon area of responsibility. Pawprints Foundation and Long Dog Rescue are accepting donations of dog, cat, puppy and kitten food year-round at Animal House, Wild Birds Unlimited, Grovetown Farm & Garden, Vineyard Wine Market and Martinez/National Hills Animal Hospitals.
