Teen rock painting

The Columbia County library Harlem branch will hold a rock painting class from 2 to 3 p.m. July 19. Class for grades six to 12. Pre-registration required.

Kiwanis meeting

The Columbia County Kiwanis Club will hold its weekly meeting at 12:15 p.m., July 20 at T-bonz on Washington Road in Augusta, near I-20. Guest speaker will be Rep. Barry Fleming. Public is welcome.

Book club

The Columbia County library Harlem branch will hold its monthly book club the third Thursday of every month at 4 p.m. The next meeting will be held July 20.

Planning commission

The Columbia County Planning Commission will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. in the Evans Auditorium A on Ronald Reagan Drive in Evans. Agendas can be located online at columbiacountyga.gov.

Book sale at library

The Friends of the Columbia County Library will hold a book sale July 21-23 in the atrium of the library. Find great deals on books and other media with proceeds benefitting the library.

Fly fishing for veterans

The Augusta Program of Project Healing Waters has scheduled a fly fishing outing on Fort Gordon with a group from the Augusta VA medical center on Friday morning at Fort Gordon. Volunteers are needed to help teach basic fly fishing techniques to disabled vets, as well as assist with regular outing functions. Dog Days

Dog Days Of Summer will be held from 2:30 to 5 p.m. July 22 at Timms Harley Davidson in Martinez. Fall in love with a rescue dog. Sign up to become a foster home for a rescue dog or cat. Come meet volunteers. All proceeds benefit local participating rescues. Republican party meeting

The Columbia County Republican Party will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. July 22 at Eli's American Grill in Evans. Guest speaker will be Ret. Lt. Col. Ed DeVos, Vietnam veteran, author of historical Christian novels and speaker. Cost is $10.

The Euchee Creek Library will hold family game night from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. July 24. Enjoy board and card games, robot kits, Wii Games, karaoke, and more.

Baby & Me class

The Euchee Creek Library will hold a baby and me class at 10:30 a.m. July 25. Children 0-2 years old can bring their adult, and enjoy a time of stories, singing, fingerplays and more interaction.

County committee meetings

The Columbia County public works services committee, and the community and emergency services committees will met from 8:30 to 10 a.m. July 25 at the Evans Government Center Building Auditorium. These committee meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of the month.

Augusta Aglow

The Augusta Aglow meeting will be held at 10 a.m. July 25 at Spring Lakes Clubhouse located at 104 Spring Lakes Drive in Martinez. The guest speaker will be Pat Mahoney. Aglow meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of the every month at 10 a.m.

Open sewing

The Columbia County library Harlem branch will hold open sewing hour at 2 p.m. July 25. Have a sewing project and need to use a sewing machine? Come in and use ours.

Quilt class

The Columbia County library Harlem branch will hold a block of the month quilting class at 4 p.m. July 25. Learn how to make a log cabin quilt. Make a square a month for a year and, at the end, put the squares all together to make a lap-size quilt. Registration is required due to limited class size.

Rock painting for adults

The Columbia County library Harlem branch will hold an adult rock painting class beginning at 2 p.m. July 26. Pre-registration required.

Lunch and Learn

The Columbia County Library will hold Environment Matters Lunch and Learn at 11:30 a.m. July 26. Join eco-lady, Margarete Alligood, and a featured speaker for valuable eco-gardening and lawn-care tips. Bring your brown bag lunch on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to the cafe area. Prizes awarded for those attending five or more sessions. Seating is limited. Columbia County Community Events presents KidsFest at Evans Towne Center Park, at 1 p.m. Aug. 5. It is the largest hands-on, creative festival in the CSRA, with more than 100,000 square feet of interactive fun.
