School council meet

The Euchee Creek Elementary School council meeting will be held beginning at 3 p.m., Monday, May 15 at the school located at 795 Louisville Road in Grovetown

Oil paintings

Fine Arts night

River Ridge Elementary School presents the 12th Annual Fine Arts Night from 5 - 7 p.m., Thursday, May 18, at the school. Parents and students are invited to tour the school's hallway, music room and the cafeteria to see student art work inspired by books read and studied by students.

Art awards will be announced at 5:55 p.m. The event includes a recorder performance by third-graders and 4th and 5th grade chorus performances.

Gathering of the People PowWow

Gathering of the People Southern Protocol Native American Pow Wow will be held 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 19, to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at the Augusta Jewish Community Center, 898 Weinberger Way, Evans. Native American singing, dancing, crafts, and food. Camp feed 5:30 p.m. Friday; intertribal dancing 7 p.m. The event is free.

Gala Concert

The Columbia County Choral Society 20th Anniversary Gala Concert will begin at 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 19 at First Baptist Church of Evans located at 515 N. Belair Road in Evans. The concert is dedicated to founding director Jack Kearns and features the music of Georgia composer Daniel Elder. Cost is $15 general public; $12 students, seniors, military, or groups of 10 or more.

Pancake breakfast fundraiser

The School for Arts Infused Learning (SAIL) will be holding a Pancake Breakfast for students, parents, families, and friends from 8 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 20 in the Abilene Baptist Church Gymnasium at 3917 Washington Road in Martinez.

Knitting or crocheting classes

Children's Art Camp

Summer feeding

The Columbia County Summer Lunch program will be avaialble May 20 - July 14. Meals will be served at various locations at no cost for kids 18 and under. Adults pay regular price of $3.75. Zoning not applicable for picking up lunches. Harlem Library

The Columbia County Library's Harlem Branch will hold a grand opening beginning at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 31 at the site of the new library located at 145 N. Louisville Street in Harlem.

VA townhall meeting

Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center will conduct its quarterly Veterans Town Hall Thursday, June 1, from 2-3 p.m., at the Augusta Richmond County Library auditorium at 823 Telfair Street in Augusta. Leadership will provide an update on issues affecting Veterans and their care. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Library book sale

Columbia County Friends of the Library Book Sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, June 2 and from 2 - 5 p.m., Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4 at the Evans Branch. Books will be on display in the foyer of the library. There will be both fiction and non-fiction books for sale
