Easter basket donations sought

Columbia County Cares food pantry is collecting Easter Baskets for children 12 and under in our client families. Baskets can be either store-bought or handmade; If basket contains toys, please mark them Boy, Girl, or Either; baskets may contain religious material. Please drop off at Columbia County Cares, 1959 Appling-Harlem Hwy., Appling, Ga., or call (706) 541-2834 and we will pick them up. In 2016, we distributed 150 baskets, thanks to the generosity of Columbia County.

Tax preparation

Republican Women's Club

CSRA Republican Women's Club monthly meeting: 6 p.m. Monday for social and dinner, 7 p.m. for business meeting, Jones Creek Country Club, Evans to Locks Road, Evans. Speaker: Jerry Lyda, co-owner of Southern K-9 Solutions on his work with veterans through nonprofit Veterans K-9 Solutions. No charge for meeting. Star Trek Weekend

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek 9 a.m. Thursday with "Shore Leave for Trekkies" - a weekend of episodes, movies, costumes and games at Elijah Clark State Park, 2959 McCormick Hwy. in Lincolnton. Parking is $5, films are free, some events include a fee. Food concessions available during movies. Trekkies can save 30 percent on park cabins and campsites during this themed weekend. Pastoral celebration

19th Pastoral Anniversary Celebration, 2 p.m. Sunday, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 3606 Old Ferry Road in Martinez, will honor the Rev. George Smith and First Lady Betty Smith. Pastor Ira Hendrix, Jr. and New Birth Missionary Baptist Church of Waynesboro, Ga. will lead the service. The event is free and open to the public.

Piano performance

Angel pendant, earrings class

Harlem Arts Council presents Angel Pendant and Earrings with Herman Kunis, 10 a.m. -noon Saturday, 175 N. Louisville St., Harlem. Learn wire-working techniques.
