The Merchants Association of Columbia County will present the 49th annual Christmas parade beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1. The parade will begin on Evans Towne Center Boulevard and continue to Washington Road and along Belair Road to Cox Road. The annual Grovetown Christmas tree lighting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Grovetown Senior Center on Robinson Avenue at Old Wrightsboro Road. Holiday decorations will light up the Grovetown Senior Center, Friendship Park and the Grovetown Museum. The event will include hot chocolate and a visit from Santa Claus. Arts in Appling
The Columbia County Historical Society is holding the annual Arts In Appling from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 in downtown Appling. Costumed hosts will lead tours of the 1812 courthouse and the 1934 jail. The free event also includes 4-H projects, arts and refreshments.
Grovetown Christmas parade

The City of Harlem will hold its 11th annual Christmas in the Heart of Downtown Harlem Festival and Parade on Dec. 14. The festival will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The parade starts at 11 a.m.
