Christmas tree lighting

Columbia County’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be from 4 p.m. until dark Nov. 30 in Evans Towne Center Park, Evans. The event includes Santa Claus, live entertainment and refreshments. For more information, call (706) 650-5005 or visit www.columiacountyga.gov.

Merchants Christmas parade

The Merchants Association of Columbia County will present the 49th annual Christmas parade beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1. The parade will begin on Evans Towne Center Boulevard and continue to Washington Road and along Belair Road to Cox Road. Harlem tree lighting

The annual Harlem Christmas Tree Lighting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at Harlem City Hall at 320 N. Louisville St., Harlem. Hot chocolate, popcorn, live holiday music and Santa Claus. For more information, call (706) 556-0043.

Grovetown tree lighting

The annual Grovetown Christmas tree lighting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Grovetown Senior Center on Robinson Avenue at Old Wrightsboro Road. Holiday decorations will light up the Grovetown Senior Center, Friendship Park and the Grovetown Museum. The event will include hot chocolate and a visit from Santa Claus. Arts in Appling

The Columbia County Historical Society is holding the annual Arts In Appling from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 in downtown Appling. Costumed hosts will lead tours of the 1812 courthouse and the 1934 jail. The free event also includes 4-H projects, arts and refreshments.

Grovetown Christmas parade

The Grovetown Christmas parade will begin at noon Dec. 7. The parade will start at Grovetown Middle School and move along Harlem-Grovetown Road to Robinson Avenue and end at Summerfield subdivision. To register a parade entry, contact Jennifer Evans at (706) 860-7691 or JEvans@grovetownga.us.

Hayride through the Life of Christ

Sharon Baptist Church is holding its annual Hayride Through the Life of Christ 7-9 p.m. Dec. 12-15 at the Columbia County Fairgrounds, on Columbia Road across from Patriots Park. Harlem Christmas play

The Dream Academy Players will perform Santa’s Playlist at 6 p.m. Dec. 13 at North Harlem Elementary School, 525 Fairview Drive, Harlem. Bethlehem Village in Harlem

Harlem United Methodist and Harlem Baptist churches are inviting visitors to Walk Through Bethlehem 6-9 p.m. Dec. 13-15 at the field between the churches on Milledgeville Road, Harlem. Singing Christmas Tree

Abilene Baptist Church will hold its 35th annual Singing Christmas Tree at 7 p.m. on Dec. 13-14 and at 3 and 7 p.m. on Dec. 15. Harlem Christmas festival

The City of Harlem will hold its 11th annual Christmas in the Heart of Downtown Harlem Festival and Parade on Dec. 14. The festival will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The parade starts at 11 a.m.
