Pink Friday

The second annual Pink Friday for the Cure event will be held 5-10 p.m., Oct. 25 at Grovetown’s Liberty Park, 1040 Newmantown Road. Former American idol contestant Briana Tyson will perform. Blood drives

Shepeard Community Blood Center is holding blood drives:

Oct. 26, 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Greubel’s MMA & Evans Fitness Club, 3002 Allen Drive, Evans.

Oct. 27, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Quest Church, 4020 Washington Road, Martinez. In memory of Jasmine Uhl.

Meet candidates

Safety fair

The second annual Columbia County School System Safety Fair will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Oct. 26 at Grovetown High School. The free event is designed to educate middle and highschool students and their parents about Drug Awareness, Gang Awareness, Cyber Safety and Juvenile Law/Bullying.

 

Family day

Fair pageant

The Merchants Association of Columbia County is sponsoring its annual Fair Scholarship Pageant on Oct. 27 at Greenbrier High School. Scholarships totaling $1,000 will be awarded. Farm festival

Blue Ribbon Riders is holding a Demonstration Day and Family Farm Festival 12:30-4 p.m., Nov. 2 at Maple Knoll Farm, 987 Reynolds Farm Road, Grovetown. Children and teens with special needs will demonstrate their developing skills. Arts and crafts and activities for all ages will be available. A silent auction will benefit the non-profit’s mission. 5K race

I Care Ministry is hosting Shed Light on Trafficking 5K and Family Challenge at 9 a.m., Oct. 26 at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans. Register at Active.com by Oct. 25. Walk up registration begins at 8 a.m. on race day. The One Mile Family Challenge is a non-competitive event in which families complete challenges every quarter-mile. $40 per family. Proceeds will benefit victims of human trafficking.

 

Harlem Hustle

The Harlem Hustle 5K race will be held at 8 a.m., Nov. 2 at 525 Fairview Dr., Harlem. Sponsored by the Harlem High School girls basketball team. Fee is $30. Register at Active.com. Walk up registration begins at 7 a.m.
