The Perrys in concert

Bethesda Baptist Church welcomes the public to a free concert featuring the award-winning gospel group The Perrys, 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 15, at the church, 5793 Old Augusta Hwy. in Harlem. The group started over 46 years ago with Libbi, Debra and Randy Perry and continues today with Libbi, her husband Tracy, son Jared, and Andrew Goldman and Troy Peach.

Church anniversary celebration

St. Mark United Methodist Church and the Rev. Unisah S. Conteh invite the public to come worship during its 136th anniversary celebration. Theme: "Standing on the Promises." Celebration activities begin with a barbecue Saturday, Sept. 9, from 2-5 p.m., with revival services nightly at 7 p.m. Sept. 12-14. The anniversary service will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 17. Communication training

Communication training in marriage, family and relationships will be held from 6-7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 24, at Belair Church, 599 Old Belair Road in Grovetown, led by Dr. Gary Powell, a licensed professional counselor with over 30 years of experience in counseling couples, individuals and families.

Hour of prayer

At His Feet: One hour of prayer will begin at 11 a.m. at New Life Worship Center West Campus, 3940 Desoto Drive in Martinez. Starting Oct. 1, every first Saturday - one-hour prayer at New Life West 11 a.m.-noon. All denominations.

Church anniversary

Mount Pleasant Baptist Church will celebrate its 143rd church anniversary at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 1, at the church, 809 Mount Pleasant Church Road in Grovetown. Celebrate the anniversary with the Rev. Frank Lewis. The public is welcome at the free event; www.mpbcgrovetown.org.

Women's conference

Fearless Women's Conference will be held 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Jabez Sanford Hardin Performing Arts Center in Evans. The inaugural conference aims to connect and empower women. Jewish life exhibition

McDuffie Museum in Thomson presents Illumination of Jewish Life in the CSRA noon-5 p.m. at 121 Main St. Exhibit tells the story of how Jews settled in the CSRA, the traditions of Judaism and its holidays, remembrances of the Holocaust and ties to Israel. Financial Peace

Marvin United Methodist Church presents Financial Peace University at 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 10, at the church, 3614 Washington Road. Financial Peace University is a nine-lesson, money-management course taught by Christian financial guru, Dave Ramsey on Sundays September through November.
