Chamber opens application process for youth, adult leadership programs

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for both the adult and youth Leadership Columbia County programs.

Leadership Columbia County, a program of the Columbia County Chamber, is designed to expose business and area leaders to community opportunities and challenges as well as to promote and foster leadership. Class members will engage in a 10-month program including daylong sessions that will cover topics such as law enforcement, health care, education, economic development and history of the county.

Applications for 2017 are available on the chamber’s Web site at columbiacountychamber.com and are due to the chamber by 5 p.m. April 21.

Youth Leadership Columbia County is a program designed to educate through experience and motivate young leaders to take an active role in the community. Participants must be sophomores or juniors in Columbia County high schools or residents of Columbia County. Students will be selected after consideration of their recognized and potential leadership and the merit of their application. The Selection Committee strives to achieve a geographical, racial and socio-economic balance.

Youth Leadership Columbia County applications are due to the Chamber office by 5 p.m. March 31.
