Students named to All State Chorus

Thirty-two Columbia County middle and high school students were named to the all-state chorus.

More than 30 Columbia County middle and high school students were recently named to the Georgia Music Educators Association All State Chorus.

The chorus members were invited to attend a weekend gathering in Athens, which included a series of rehearsals and a public performance at the Classic Center on Feb. 22. The students are listed below by school.

Columbia Middle School: Phillip Streetman (teacher), Jeremy Froebel, Michael Nodorft, Charley Walker, Ezekiel Villa Juan, Jordon Bruton, Melanie Stone, Sarah Martinez, Danielle Benoit-Harris;

Evans Middle: Wendy Baggott (teacher), Catherine Rimbey;

Grovetown Middle: Niki Chambers (teacher), McKenzie Tanksersley;

Riverside Middle: Erin Dibling (teacher), Sydney Blakeney, Faith Elizabeth Turner;

Evans High School: Jean Lancaster (teacher), Julia Cooper, Danielle Davis, Mya Elim, Sarah Grossman, Joseph Kim, Nick Spooner, Lauren Templeton;

Greenbrier High School: Karen Boyd (teacher), Anays Ayala, Maggie Christine, Erin Delaney, Stephanie Reville, Kathryn Santiago, Sarah Beth Stewart, Kelsey Wimberley;

Grovetown High School: Mary Angel Cleary (teacher), Nicole Garcia (6-year attendee), Rhiley Greene, Mikayla Nodorft, Haley Branch;

Lakeside High School: Stacey Branch (teacher), Eliza Brownfield and Ryan Brownfield.
