Megan Moss of Evans, a senior in the nursing program at Valdosta State University, has been awarded a scholarship for her last two semesters at Valdosta from Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation Scholarship. Moss is the daughter of Morris and Amy Moss of Evans.
Brijuanna Key of Martinez, a senior at Evans High School, has been offered a Georgia Military Scholarship to attend the University of North Georgia. She will start attending the school for the spring 2014 semester. The scholarship pays for tuition, books, fees, room, board, and provides monthly pay and stipends for those serving as enlisted members of the Georgia Army National Guard while being a full-time student at UNG. The state-funded scholarship is worth approximately $70,000 over four years.
Lindsey Carswell of Evans, a second-year medical student at Georgia Campus, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, has received the Ernest C. Johnson, DO Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was provided in the will of Anna C. Johnson, DO, PCOM Class of 1928, in memory of her husband, Ernest A. Johnson, DO, PCOM Class of 1925. Carswell is a graduate from Augusta State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in biology, who went on to receive a certificate of biomedical science from PCOM in 2012 with a Master’s degree pending.
