National Night Out
The Columbia County Sheriff’s office is holding a National Out Event at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Government Center Auditorium, Evans. The presentation will include information about neighborhood watch programs, crime and drug prevention awareness, local anti-crime programs and strengthening community-police partnerships.

Fort Gordon Spouse’s & Civilian’s Club kicks off its year of service Wednesday with a free event 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Family Outreach Center (behind Woodworth Library) on Fort Gordon. The club will also be collecting school supplies for Family Promise of Augusta. Items needed include: headphones, flash drives, folders, notebook paper, binders, index cards and any other school supplies.
