My Dad is going to be the best Father of the Year! My father is the best father because after dinner he lets us eat as many candies as we want. The thing that I like to do with my dad is go frog hunting when my mom feels like it. He catches big bullfrogs and crawdads. He takes us to the beach and WalMart too! I love hanging out with my dad, he is the best dad ever! He takes pictures of us and he takes us everywhere we want to go, and he is the best dad ever!
Ted Pacheco Nominated by Ansley Pacheco, 8, Grovetown
My Dad is the best dad because he takes me places like the Georgia Bulldog game, cities, movies, fairs and concerts. When I need correction, he corrects me. When I need loving, he gives me love. When I am sad, he makes me happy. When I cry, he wipes my tears. When I am sick, he makes me feel better. He teaches me good work habits. That is why I love him and that is why he is the best dad ever!
Bernie Jones Nominated by Hana Jones, 10, Evans
I think my Dad should be Father of the Year for Columbia County because he is a wonderful father and he helps the environment. He keeps the environment and his family safe everyday. He usually has to leave late at night or early in the morning, but he always comes home with a smile on his face. I asked him the other day why he works without any complaints, and he said “It keeps everyone happy, it puts a roof over your head and feeds you”. What I didn’t get is that he never said anything about him in that sentence? He said it doesn’t matter. I asked why, and he said “I have four kids, not much time to think about myself”. That made me truly respect him in a brand new way. He keeps me and my siblings in line so we don’t act up. I don’t mind because he’s just trying to help us. He says he hates to yell at us, but he does it because he loves us. I play travel softball, so I have to do a lot of work. He cheers me on every step of the way, and he keeps my spirit up when I make mistakes. He is the best dad in the world and will always be!
Jeremy Worth, SSG Nominated by Auna Worth, 12, Martinez
My name is Auna and I am the daughter of a wounded warrior. My Dad is the best dad in the world. My dad served in the Army and now is in a wheelchair because he fought for our country. He is also a police officer and a nurse. He deserves it because he has sacrificed so much for our country and always serves other people. Even though he’s injured, he still takes good care of me and my siblings. I love my dad so much and would be honored if he won this award.
Carey Simmons Nominated by C.J. Simmons, 14, and Cole Simmons, 12, Evans
Our Dad should be chosen for the Father of the Year because he is the nicest kind-hearted person I know. He will drop anything he is doing to help someone, he will give you the shirt off his back, and he can make anyone laugh no matter who they are! He is always there to support us in anything we do. Whenever you have a bad day, he can always make you laugh and smile, he has the best sense of humor! You can ask anyone that knows him. Our Dad is the best dad anyone could ever ask for! That’s why he should be Father of the Year.
Steven Buzhardt Nominated by Ashley Buzhardt, 15, and Madison Buzhardt, 13, Grovetown
How many Dads choose you to be their Dad? Our Dad did! On November 16, 2009, we were adopted from Columbia County Foster Care. We are blessed to call him our Dad because he does everything in the image of God. He provides for our needs and he teaches us right from wrong, shows us how to live for God, and role models how to give back to others. He volunteers his time with many projects and he served in the military for 21 years. We are truly thankful for our Dad. He deserves it. We love you Daddy!
