School Hearings, May 22, 2013

• A Grovetown High School student went before the school system hearing officer on May 8 for an act of violence against a school official and was suspended for the remainder of the school year and was ordered to attend the Columbia County Alternative School for the first semester of next year.

• A Columbia County Alternative School student went before the hearing officer on May 8 for an accumulation of offenses and was suspended for the remainder of the school year.

• Two Harlem Middle School pupils went before the hearing officer on May 8 for possession of an over-the-counter drug and were suspended for the remainder of the school year and ordered to attend the alternative school for the first semester of next year.

• A Lakeside High School student went before the hearing officer on May 8 for battery and was suspended for the remainder of the school year and was ordered to attend the alternative school for the first semester of next year.

• A Grovetown Middle School pupil went before the hearing officer on May 8 for disrupting school and was suspended for the remainder of the school year.

• A Grovetown Middle School pupil went before the hearing officer on May 8 for disrupting school and was remanded to the school for insufficient evidence.

• A Grovetown Middle School pupil went before the hearing officer on May 9 for an accumulation of offenses and was suspended for the remainder of the school year.

• A Greenbrier High School student went before the hearing officer on May 9 for computer misuse and was suspended for the remainder of the school year and was ordered to attend the alternative school for the first semester of next year.

• An Evans High School student went before the hearing officer on May 9 for possession of tobacco and was suspended for the remainder of the school year and ordered to attend the alternative school for the first semester of next year.

• A Harlem High School student went before the hearing officer on May 9 for sexual offenses and computer misuse and was suspended for the remainder of the school year and ordered to attend the alternative school for the first semester of next year.

• A Harlem High School student went before the hearing officer on May 9 for truancy and was suspended for the remainder of the school year.
