School Hearings, April 10, 2013

• A Lakeside High School student went before the school system hearing officer on March 27 for disrupting school and was suspended for the remainder of the school year with the option to attend the Columbia County Alternative School.

• A Lakeside Middle School pupil went before the hearing officer on March 27 for an accumulation of offenses and was suspended for the remainder of the school year with the option to attend the alternative school.

• A Lakeside Middle School pupil went before the hearing officer on March 27 for threats/intimidation and was suspended for 15 days.

•A Grovetown Middle School pupil went before the hearing officer on March 27 for an accumulation of offenses and was suspended for the remainder of the school year with the option to attend the alternative school.

•A Lakeside Middle School special needs pupil went before the hearing officer on March 27 for possession of a knife and was remanded to the Individualized Education Program Committee for punishment.

• A Lakeside Middle School pupil went before the hearing officer on March 27 for drug possession and was suspended for 15 days.

• An alternative school student went before the hearing officer on March 28 for an accumulation of offenses and was suspended for the remainder of the school year and the first semester of next year with the option to attend the alternative school.

• A Lakeside High School student went before the hearing officer on March 28 for truancy and was suspended for the remainder of the school year and the first semester of next year with the option to attend the alternative school.

• An alternative school student went before the hearing officer on March 28 for an accumulation of offenses and was suspended for the remainder of the school year.

• A Lakeside Middle School pupil went before the hearing officer on March 28 for sexual harassment and was remanded to the school for insufficient evidence.

• A Harlem Middle School pupil went before the hearing officer on March 28 for drug possession and was suspended for the remainder of the school year and the first semester of next year with the option to attend the alternative school.

• An alternative school student went before the hearing officer on March 28 for truancy and was suspended for the remainder of the school year.

• An alternative school student went before the hearing officer on March 28 for an accumulation of offenses and was suspended for the remainder of the school year.

• Two Greenbrier High School students went before the hearing officer on March 29 for possession of alcohol and public intoxication and were remanded to the school for insufficient evidence.

•Three Greenbrier High School students went before the hearing officer on March 29 for possession of alcohol and public intoxication and were suspended for the remainder of the school year and the first semester of next year with the option to attend the alternative school.
