• An Evans High School student who was found in possession of a Lakeside High School Panther statue went before the school system hearing officer Jan. 23 for a school prank and was remanded to the school with time served.
• A Grovetown High School student went before the hearing officer Jan. 23 for public intoxication (drugs) Jan. 23 and was given long-term suspension with the option to attend the Columbia County Alternative School for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year.
• A Grovetown High School student went before the hearing officer Jan. 23 for possession of prescription drugs Jan. 23 and was remanded to the school because of insufficient evidence.
• An Evans High School student went before the hearing officer Jan. 23 for possession of firecrackers and a smoke bomb and was given long-term suspension with the option to attend the alternative school for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year.
• A Harlem High School student went before the hearing officer Jan. 25 for possession of prescription drugs Loperamide and Promethazine and was remanded to the school with time served.
• A Grovetown High School student went before the hearing officer Jan. 25 for sexual battery and was given long-term suspension with the option to attend the alternative school for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year.
• An alternative school student went before the hearing officer Jan. 25 for sexual harassment and was expelled for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year and the first semester of the 2013-14 school year.
