School Hearings, Jan. 30, 2013

A Grovetown High School student went before the school system hearing officer on Jan. 15 for an off-campus felony and was suspended for the remainder of the school year.

A Columbia County Alternative School special needs student went before the hearing officer on Jan. 15 for terroristic threats and was remanded to the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Committee for punishment.

An Evans High School student went before the hearing officer on Jan. 15 for an accumulation of offenses and was suspended for the remainder of the school year with the option to attend the alternative school.

A Harlem High School student went before the hearing officer on Jan. 17 for an accumulation of offenses and was suspended for the remainder of the school year with the option to attend the alternative school.

An Evans High School student went before the hearing officer on Jan. 17 for an accumulation of offenses and was suspended for 15 days.

A Lakeside High School student went before the hearing officer for possession of a knife and was suspended for the remainder of the school year and the first semester of next year with the option to attend the alternative school.

A Lakeside High School student went before the hearing officer on Jan. 17 for fighting and was suspended for the remainder of the school year and the first semester of next year with the option to attend the alternative school.
