Relay pageant
Augusta’s Miss Relay for Life Pageant will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Lakeside High School Auditorium, with profits supporting the Augusta chapter of Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. Admission costs $5. For more information, call (706) 650-8646.

Black history
The Zack Pollard Club of Mount Olive Baptist Church, 4973 Washington Road, Evans, will hold its 14th annual Black History Month program at 4 p.m. today, with guest speaker Robert L. Bell, a Washington, D.C., attorney. The event is free, and includes music from the Disciples of Praise and the Mount Olive Male Chorus.
History group
The Columbia County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the historic jail in Appling. The public is encouraged to attend.
Writers meet
CSRA Writers will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Martinez campus of Georgia Military College, 115 Davis Road. Writers needing a support group are invited to attend and bring eight copies of a manuscript to be critiqued. For information, call Steve Fox at (706) 836-7315.
Driver safety
The AARP Driver Safety program, a refresher for drivers age 50-older, will be held 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
