How about putting away glass slippers, dreams of a perfect candidate or electing someone to satisfy our every whim, and accepting that there are no princes - or, perhaps in this case, princesses - on the ballot. Let's examine each candidate thoroughly, determine which ideology is best for the future, the benefit of the most citizens possible, not just for the short term, and vote that ticket. Now that slipper just might fit.

The Supreme Court's latest decision makes things clear: the Roe v. Wade decision is not going to be overturned. Legislatures that try to get around this will be slapped down. Will that stop lawmakers from trying? Of course not. But it seems likely that those measures won't be treated kindly.
