The Soul City Sirens will host their third WFTDA D3 Roller Derby Tournament May 20-22 at the Columbia County Exhibition Center. All bouts will be sanctioned and will count towards each team's national rankings.

Members of the Leadership Columbia County class toured the Columbia County Sheriff's Office and jail facilities Thursday during the program's annual Law Enforcement Day. Each year the Chamber of Commerce works alongside the sheriff's office to provide a day-long visit for class members to learn about department operations.
As the last notes from the bagpiper's tune of Amazing Grace sounded on Thursday, friends and family exited two side doors of West Acres Baptist Church, and followed the casket of 11-year-old, Brad Daniel Basey, Jr. to a hearse waiting in the crowded, but silent parking lot.
