Vanderhorst CME Church will hold a Martin Luther King Jr. banquet on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 6 p.m. The speaker will be Dr. Jeffery Thomas of Trinity CME church in Augusta. Tickets are available for the banquet from any member of the Vandershorst CME Church.

The CSRA chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses is sponsoring a two day CCRN/PCCN review course. This two-day program is designed for nurses preparing to take on the challenge of either the CCRN or PCCN exam. Rather than a comprehensive review of critical care and progressive care nursing, this course highlights and reinforces exam-essential concepts and should be approached as the final culmination of your own self-study.
The Thomson Lady Bulldogs basketball team went 1-2 in the Brewton-Parker New Year's Classic in Mount Vernon, Ga., on Dec. 29-31. The Lady Bulldogs' record is now 6-5.
