The 32nd annual Robert Sapp Baseball Camp and Girl's Softball Camp is accepting applications for its summer session, to be held at Sweetwater Park in Thomson, June 25-29. Camps are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are for boys ages 7-14 and girls ages 7-15.

Norris Elementary School students recently raised more than $450 for Relay for Life through Lunch on the Lawn, a fundraising idea shared with NES by Thomson-McDuffie Middle School. Students donated $1 to Relay in order to enjoy their lunchtime outside.

Just a few months after a kaolin slurry spill rocked the ecosystem of Reedy Creek, the creek took another heavy blow when more than 100,000 gallons of kaolin whitewash was leaked from a faulty pipe. The leak was first detected around 7 a.m. March 23.
