The Thomson High School Soccer Dogs defeated the Lincoln County Red Devils in an away game Feb. 21, by a score of 5-4.
It was clear before to the game that a strong wind from the south would play a role in the game.
Thomson boys basketball coach Michael Thomas leafed through the scorebook that summarized his 29th year with the Bulldogs.
He allowed himself a half a smile on the 22 victories, which included his 500th career victory midseason.
The THS Diamond Dogs fell to the Evans Knights, 3-2, in their season opener at home. "What I'm most pleased with in this game is that our guys didn't lay down when they were behind," head coach Aaron Hall said following the game.
Steve Reese was one of three Thomson Bulldogs in the '80s to go on to stellar college football careers with the Clemson Tigers. James Farr and Jessie Hatcher shared that honor. Reese was a three-year starter for coach Bill Reese's Thomson Bulldogs.
Firefighters from Thomson, Warrenton and Harlem took a National Professional Qualifications 1 class at the Thomson fire training facility Saturday.
The training is required for a firefighter to become certified.
