The Family Y North Augusta camp was visited by Mike Adams and Melissa Burbury of Advance Services Pest Control on June 18. Campers learned about different kinds of bugs and got to see them up close.
Local pharmacist is named association's president
Steve McElmurray, RPh, of Parks Pharmacy, was installed as the 2013-14 president and board chairman of the South Carolina Pharmacy Association on June 7.
• Registration will be held Aug. 1 from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. A parent or legal guardian must register the pupil, pay a $45 fee and provide current information on the registration card.
• Open house will be held Aug. 16 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Elisabeth Harkins hopes that her efforts to raise awareness about scoliosis will lead parents to get their children screened for it early to prevent the need for surgery.
Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine and can be S-shaped or C-shaped.
Construction on phase one of North Augusta High School's master plan is expected to begin in October or November.
The Aiken County school board gave final approval for the project earlier this month.
The project is budgeted for about $11 million.
