S. Claus 1 North Pole Circle December 2011 Dear Mr. Claus, By now you must have your antlered friends straining at that bulging sky buggy. Your weary little workshop helpers must have their bleary eyes on a grande espresso with extra mocha.
Like clockwork, Christmas comes in tripping over the trappings of the season. Before I can utter, "Oh holy night," it's at my front door jingling the bell. To herald in the holidays, our tree joined the hall-decking party three branches to the wind.
Instead of children, Santa Claus had puppies in his lap at the Best Western White Columns Inn on Saturday afternoon. Santa's visit was part of Kibble for Kritters, a pet supply donation program that benefits the CSRA Happy Tails Rescue.
The Thomson Fire Department responded to a call at 713 Matthews St. at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 15.
Upon arrival, personnel found that the occupants were already out of the house and that light smoke was visible.
