With a knit cap pulled tight over his head and a steamy cup of hot chocolate between his hands, 6-year-old Preston Hill patiently waited for the start of the North Augusta Evening Lions Club Christmas Parade on Sunday.
Brad Wilson has enjoyed participating in the North Augusta Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony for the past three years.
"The event is so festive," said the 13-year-old. "It's fun because you know everybody.
About 16 years ago, Janie Livingston was the first to be chosen for a home through Habitat for Humanity of North Augusta.
On Saturday, Livingston reached another milestone with the local Habitat affiliate - she became the first to burn her mortgage.
