I was recently asked to fly out to Denver to speak to a group of women whose children are all boys. The group, called The MoB (Moms of Boys) has the unique group requirements of members each a) having at least three sons and b) having no daughters.
As this Thanksgiving approaches, I have been thinking of all the things I have to be grateful for this year.
First of all, I am always thankful for my family. I could not ask for a better son and grandchildren. Tommy gets better every year.
• The A-Team Winter Camp will be held on Sundays between Dec. 15 and Jan. 26 at Riverside Park from 1to 4 p.m for sixth through eighth graders.
Cost is $100. The camp focuses on mechanics and position training. Registration deadline is Dec. 7.
Week 12 There were 78 entries with 70 contestants qualifying. Five contestants picked all 10 games correctly, 12 contestants picked nine correctly, 28 picked eight correctly and 25 picked seven games correctly.
Being the offspring of a military man, Evans High School's Patrick Lawrence has been through his share of transitions.
Born in Missouri, he has lived in Virginia, California and Texas. Lawrence learned how to adapt along the way.
Another softball season is in the books, and once again Columbia County teams made their presence felt around the state. Greenbrier finished the season 26-7 and spent almost the entire season in the Top 10 in Class AAAAA.
