Burglars caught at home
A North Augusta couple was arrested after being caught by a homeowner during a burglary attempt and then barricading themselves in a North Augusta home Saturday morning, police said.
The North Augusta City Council passed a public safety ordinance Nov. 19 that will raise fire-protection fees for those who live outside the city limits.
There will be a $12 increase for those homes, increasing the current fee from $60 to $72 per year.
Spring-flowering bulbs are some of the earliest flowers appearing in gardens each year. Some flowering bulbs start blooming as early as January and can be planted in flower beds, around trees, or grown in pots and window boxes.
